ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paul Heard – a brief history - page 2 |

| At about the same time, with the decent wage I started to accrue in the construction industry, I bought two Olympus OM10 cameras and started taking colour photographs. I loved to walk in the country and quite often spent weeks in Dartmoor and the other national parks, just walking and taking photographs of the landscape. |

 |
I started using black and white film and bought the necessary darkroom equipment to develop my own photographs, which is incredibly interesting and satisfying if you’ve not tried it. Eventually I outgrew the OM10’s and treated myself to a Minolta Dynax 7000i camera, which I still use today. In the recent past I have also added to my photographic arsenal by buying a Minolta Dimage 7i digital camera. |

The lure of the outdoors and a love of
nature eventually polarised my creative spirit towards
natural landscapes, plants and animals. I took up the
growing of bonsai trees and decided to re-take my fine
art A-level at evening classes, for which I received
a grade A. An exhibition I held after the exam material
was returned to me was very successful and I sold £1000
worth of my original works.
Following the exhibition, paradoxically, I almost completely stopped all photography and painting. |
